Lava launches India's first Android Go smartphone at Rs. 2,400
Lava Z50 has finally been launched as India's first Android Oreo (Go edition) smartphone. The smartphone is available for a price of Rs. 4,400 at all e-commerce platforms like Amazon, Flipkart, and Snapdeal and over 1,00,000 retail stores. Further, Airtel is offering a cashback of Rs. 2,000 on the smartphone under its 'Mera Pehla Smartphone' initiative, bringing down the phone's price to Rs. 2,400.
Lava Z50 features a 4.5-inch display
The Lava Z50 features a 4.5-inch display with FWVGA (480x854 pixels) resolution and 2.5D curved Gorilla Glass. The phone, that comes in the two color options of black and gold, measures 135x66.6x9.7 mm and weighs 140 grams. The device is available with a warranty of two years along with a free one-time screen replacement that is valid for one year.
Android Go is an optimized OS for low-end phones
The Android Go operating system (OS) by Google is an optimized version of the latest Android Oreo OS which is specially designed for low-configuration smartphones. It runs the Lite versions of several Google apps, which load faster, use less data and take up less space.
The phone's 5MP camera features Bokeh Mode
The Lava Z50 has 5MP rear and front cameras, both supporting LED flash. Both camera sensors also support the much-talked-about Bokeh Mode that can blur the background to highlight objects and faces in the foreground. The smartphone's camera also sports features like Face Beauty, Funny Cam, HDR, Super Night, Video Beauty, Filter, Template, Panorama, GIF Mode, Intelligent Selfie, Sound Picture, and Child Mode.
The phones has 1 GB RAM, 2,000 mAh battery
The Lava Z50 is powered by a quad-core 1.1 GHz MediaTek processor and runs the Android 8.1 Oreo (Go edition) operating system. The dual-SIM smartphone features 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of inbuilt storage, and a 2,000 mAh battery with Super Power Saver Mode. Its connectivity options include FM radio, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS, and Micro-USB.
