Mi 7 will be Xiaomi's most expensive offering ever
Xiaomi is expected to take the drape off their new flagship phones - the Mi 7 and the Mi 7 Plus - at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 in late February. It's expected that the phone will offer top end specs at mid-range prices. Now, recent rumors have revealed the phone to be Xiaomi's most expensive offering, starting 3000 yuan (approximately Rs. 30,000).
Xiaomi's Mi series phones have been getting costlier
Until 2017, Xiaomi's Mi series phones had carried low price tags starting at 1999 yuan. In 2017, the Mi 6 was launched at 2499 yuan, and the premium ceramic variant of the same phone was priced at 2999 yuan. The high starting price of the Mi 7 reflects the high end specifications offered by the phone.
What we know about the Mi 7's specs
The Mi 7 duo will come with Qualcomm's top-of-the-line Snapdragon 845 processors, 6GB/8GB of RAM, and 32GB/64GB of internal, but expandable, storage. The 5.65-inch Mi 7 and the 6.01-inch Mi 7 plus will both sport bezel-less edge-to-edge displays, AI-equipped dual 20MP + 12MP rear cameras, and a 20MP selfie camera with portrait mode. It's also rumored that they will both support Qi wireless charging.
