The 'all-in-one' keyboard you want, the keyboard you can't buy
Not every notebook packs enough ports to let you plug in multiple peripheral devices, say two-three pen drives, at the same time. The problem has long existed, with users being forced to take turns to transfer data from multiple devices. However, the good news is, there is a solution (on paper) to deal with this mess: an all-in-one keyboard called Kolude KD-K1.
A slim keyboard hosting multiple ports
Coming from a Chinese company called Kolude, KD-K1 is a slim/light keyboard that draws inspiration from the scissor-switch keypad Apple has on offer. However, the thing that makes it different is the inclusion of a range of ports for multiple connections. Essentially, it is a keyboard integrated with a hub for all your peripherals or, as the company calls it, a 'keyhub'.
You get all major ports for improved work and play
KD-K1 keyhub packs a slim aluminum body but offers the ability to host several peripheral connections, thanks to its full-sized HDMI port, microSD card slot, SD card slot, four traditional USB ports, and two Type-C connectors. You can use this whole setup to plug-in multiple devices, from pen-drives to hard disks to displays, at the same time and boost your work and gaming experiences.
You can use this device while charging iPad, MacBooks
With so many ports on offer, Kolude notes that this keyboard will let you work while charging your iPad Pro, post-2015 MacBook, or other USB Type-C devices. Plus, for external monitor connections via HDMI, you'd get support for 4K/30Hz as well as 2K, 1080P, and 720P. The keyboard also offers several shortcut keys for functions like screenshot, copy, cut, paste and home.
It would work with macOS and Windows machines
The keyhub has been designed for Apple products, but it will also work with Windows machines - you just have to remember that there is Command instead of the Windows key. As of now, it is listed at $99 as part of a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter, with worldwide shipping estimated to begin from June 2020.
