    Reliance Jio has bagged the digital content streaming rights to broadcast the Winter Olympic Games 2018 in India.

    The company has announced that its live television app JioTV will exclusively showcase the games by creating multiple channels on its platform dedicated to it, streaming live action content 24x7.

    Winter Olympic Games 2018 to be held from February 9-25

    The Winter Olympic Games 2018, which will be held from February 9 to 25 in PyeongChang County in South Korea, will witness participation from more than 90 countries, including India. It will feature 102 events across 15 sports, like skiing, skating, ice hockey, and snowboarding.

    Reliance Jio will live broadcast, highlight events, repeat telecast

    Reliance Jio's coverage of the event will include live broadcasting, highlighting packages, and repeating programs.

    According to the company, consumers will also be able to utilize a seven-day catch-up feature on the platform that will allow them to watch repeat action sequences at their convenience.

    Notably, the IOC's multi-platform media destination, Olympic Channel, will also live stream the games in the country.

    After providing significant competition to telecom service providers like Airtel, Idea, and Vodafone in India, Reliance Jio is now trying to enter the content streaming market. Currently, the Indian video streaming market is dominated by Amazon Prime, Netflix, and Hotstar.
