You can now shop in Paris using JioFinance app
Jio Financial Services Ltd has gone global with the debut of its JioFinance app in Paris. The app is designed to simplify digital transactions for Indian travelers at key Parisian landmarks. Users can now purchase tickets for the Eiffel Tower through its official website, La Tour Eiffel via the app, and enjoy seamless in-store shopping at Galeries Lafayette Paris Hausmann, a famous department store. The launch was strategically timed to coincide with the city's hosting of the Olympics.
JioFinance partners with Visa for 2024 Olympics
JioFinance has established a presence at 'India House,' a showcase of Indian culture in Paris, conceptualized by Reliance Foundation in partnership with the Indian Olympic Association. The company has set up an experience center within this venue for visitors, to explore the app's features. Visa, the official payments partner of the Olympic Games Paris 2024, has partnered with JioFinance for its presence at India House.
A comprehensive digital financial solution
The JioFinance app aims to provide a refined digital experience for all Indians, regardless of their familiarity with financial technology. It promises instant UPI payments, a fully digital bank account, bill payments and recharges, wallet services, rewards, insurance broking, and a consolidated view of an individual's holdings across bank accounts. The goal is to ensure effortless money management at users' fingertips.
JioFinance transforms into CIC
Last month, JioFinance received approval from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to convert from a non-banking financial firm to a core investment company (CIC). This transition followed the company's application to the RBI in November 2023. As defined by the RBI, a CIC engaging in acquiring stocks and securities, must have an asset size of over ₹100 crore, and maintain at least 90% of its net assets in investments like equity shares, preference shares, bonds, and debentures.
