Reliance Jio users can now answer landline calls on smartphones
Reliance Jio is not only expanding its range of services but also improving existing ones. In the latest such development, the company's landline service, which was introduced with JioFiber, is becoming smarter, thanks to the JioCall app. With the app, you can now answer landline calls on a mobile phone and even make video calls using your fixed line number. Here's how.
Everything to know about the JioCall app
With the JioCall app (previously known as Jio4Gvoice), you can now make HD audio and video calls using your fixed line number through your smartphone. However, the feature will be available if you have an active Jio SIM card in your smartphone and a JioFiber connection with fixed-line connectivity. The app is available for free on Google Play Store and App Store.
How to make calls from your fixed-line number using JioCall?
For using your Jio landline number for voice and video calls, you will have to configure your 10 digit fixed line number on the JioCall app by choosing FixedLine Profile. Once enabled, you'll be able to make or receive calls from your fixed line number using your smartphone. The app also allows you to make video and conference calls from your JioFiber connected TV.
You can also use Rich Communication Services with JioCall app
JioCall also marks the arrival of RCS in India, bringing features such as SMS, Rich call, group chat, file and location sharing, doodles, and stickers. However, to be able to enjoy these features, you'll require an active Jio SIM and a specific mobile profile needs to be configured. Moreover, your contacts should also have RCS enabled to be able to experience all the features.
What else do you get with JioCall?
JioCall also allows you to make VoLTE high-definition voice and video calls on your existing 2G, 3G, 4G smartphone. You can also use your non-VoLTE 4G handset to make HD calls to any number in the world by connecting the phone to a JioFi device.
