New JioFi 4G hotspot device launched at Rs. 999
Reliance Jio has launched a new JioFi 4G LTE hotspot device at a price of Rs. 999. Called JioFi JMR815, the new device can apparently deliver download speeds of up to 150 Mbps and upload speeds of up to 50 Mbps. It is available exclusively on Flipkart with a one-year warranty. 32 people can simultaneously get on the internet through JioFi
The new JioFi model sports a circular build with buttons for power on/off and WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup). It features notification lights for battery, 4G, and Wi-Fi signal strength. 32 users can connect to high-speed internet through the device simultaneously, with 31 on Wi-Fi and one on USB. It also lets users make HD voice and video calls via the Jio 4G Voice app.
The JioFi hotspot dongle can be charged in 3.5 hours
The JioFi device is powered by an ALT3800 processor. It has a microSD card slot that supports storage expansion up to 64 GB and a 3,000 mAh battery that can charge the device in 3.5 hours. It reportedly gives connectivity for 8 hours. In comparison, the original JioFi hotspot device, which came in the form of an egg-shaped dongle, featured a 2,300 mAh battery.
Jio has also launched a new offer for Rs. 1,999
The launch comes after Reliance Jio rolled out a new JioFi offer for Rs. 1,999 that provides users with free data and voucher benefits worth Rs. 3,595. The new model is yet to be officially listed on the company online store Jio.com.
