Meet Juli Vavilova, 'crypto coach' linked to Telegram CEO's arrest
Pavel Durov, the CEO of popular messaging app Telegram, was arrested in France last week. Accompanying him at the time of his arrest was a mysterious woman named Juli Vavilova. The 24-year-old cryptocurrency coach and streamer from Dubai has now come under scrutiny, due to her close association with Durov during his apprehension. Conspiracy theorists suggest that she might be a Mossad agent.
Vavilova's social media presence and interests
Vavilova maintains an active presence on social media platforms, including Instagram where she has amassed over 20,000 followers. She describes herself as a gamer with interests in "gaming, crypto, languages, and mindset." Additionally, she is multilingual with proficiency in Russian, English, Spanish and Arabic. Her posts often document her travels with Durov to various countries such as Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan.
Speculations about Vavilova's role in Durov's arrest
The nature of Vavilova's relationship with Durov is yet to be clarified, although some reports suggest she could be his girlfriend. Following Durov's arrest, social media has been rife with speculation about Vavilova's potential involvement. One theory suggests that she might be a Mossad agent who was planted as a honey trap to aid in capturing Durov. Other theories propose that her frequent social media posts showing her at the same locations as Durov led to his arrest.
Circumstances surrounding Durov's arrest
Durov, a Russian-born billionaire with French-Russian dual citizenship, was arrested after landing at Le Bourget airport outside Paris. The 39-year-old billionaire was reportedly flying from Azerbaijan. He has been detained for allegedly failing to take any action to curb the criminal use of his platform. France's OFMIN, which is a body tasked with preventing violence against minors, had issued an arrest warrant for Durov as per news agency AFP.
