Is Apple planning to launch its biggest iPhone in 2018?
People have enough reasons to expect something novel from Apple this year and Apple knows it too. Speculations are rife that Apple might be gearing up to launch its biggest ever iPhone in 2018. A report by Business Insider predicts that it will release 3 new iPhones this year, including a super-sized 6.5 inch phone. This handset could exhibit Apple's excellence in display technology. Here's more.
Will flex iPhone become a reality?
Apple is reportedly serious about giving its flagship range the organic light-emitting diode (OLED) displays powered with edge-to-edge screens. We may see a phone with brighter and better colors than the current iPhones. In addition, the rumor among Apple fans last year that it would launch a phone with bendable curved display, finally may come true this year.
But, what will OLED display mean for you?
Although, iPhoneX already has OLED displays, these phones that would be launched in 2018, will also have OLED screens, so that you don't get hit by a blinding flash of light every time you turn your phone on. Apple has recently tied up with LG for OLED displays and it means that, now your iPhone displays will have excellence in color and contrast calibration.
Will LG provide the display this time?
Experts say that Apple is roping in LG for providing OLED screens. Earlier Samsung was the only supplier of OLED displays to Apple; now the company seems to have a new ally in LG.
The battery fiasco
Recently, Apple was in the midst of a scandal over the deliberate slowdown of the performance of older iPhones with aging batteries. Customers have accused Apple of "planned obsolescence" through updates to limit battery power and performance. Apple apologized, admitting it does slow down iPhones. It is time Apple cleans up its act, and brings back the innovative products it is known for.
