iQOO has launched a new U-series handset, the U5x, in China. It starts at CNY 849 (around Rs. 10,200) for the base 4GB/128GB model. The company is yet to announce anything about the smartphone's availability outside China. As for the key highlights, it features an IPS LCD display, a 13MP main camera, a Snapdragon 680 chipset, and a 5,000mAh battery.
The handset has 89% screen-to-body ratio
The iQOO U5x features a waterdrop notch design with a noticeable bottom bezel and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. On the rear, it sports a rectangular camera unit. The handset bears a 6.51-inch HD+ (720x1600 pixels) IPS LCD display with a 60Hz refresh rate and an 89% screen-to-body ratio. It is offered in Polar Blue and Star Black color options.
Why does this story matter?
The U5x is the latest addition to iQOO's portfolio of budget range handsets. Although it looks a lot like the Vivo T1 and iQOO Z6 5G, it is a step below them when it comes to specifications. However, the large battery and RAM options make it an attractive option for those looking to get a good-looking smartphone without burning a hole in their pocket.
It packs a 5,000mAh battery
The iQOO U5x is powered by a Snapdragon 680 SoC, coupled with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Under the hood, it boots Android 11-based OriginOS and houses a 5,000mAh battery with 10W charging support. As for connectivity, the handset offers support for 4G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, a 3.5mm audio jack, and a micro-USB port.
It sports a 13MP main camera
The iQOO U5x is equipped with a dual rear camera unit, including a 13MP main shooter and a 2MP depth lens. Up front, it has an 8MP selfie camera.

The iQOO U5x carries a price-tag of CNY 849 (around Rs. 10,200) for the 4GB/128GB model and CNY 1,049 (roughly Rs. 12,600) for the 8GB/128GB variant. However, the handset is only available in China for now.
