How to take scrolling screenshot on iPhone: A simple guide
Taking a regular screenshot on an iPhone or iPad is straightforward and easy. Just press the upper volume button and power button briefly at the same time. The screen will flash and a small thumbnail of the screenshot will appear in the lower-left corner. But what if you want to capture website articles that tend to be much longer than what appears on your screen? Can the iPhone capture scrolling or full-page screenshots as well? Yes, here's how.
Understanding the screenshot notification and different types
Upon successful screenshot capture, tap on the thumbnail that appears on your screen. The screenshot will expand into edit mode, revealing some tools at the top of the screen. Here, you can select between "screen" and "full page" options. Selecting the latter will give you the scrolling screenshot. After editing, tapping on "done" allows users to choose where to save the screenshot. Options include saving in Photos app, Files app or creating "a Quick Note with the image in it."
Sharing full-page screenshots on iPhone
The "copy and delete" option allows users to save the screenshot image to their clipboard while removing the actual screenshot from their device. When capturing an entire webpage, you can tap on "full page," which displays a long thumbnail of the entire screen on the right side. This thumbnail can be scrolled through using a highlighted area to decide what parts to trim. Apple's screenshot feature also enables sharing of screenshots via email, message, AirDrop, or on social media platforms.
