Apple's next iPhone SE to feature Face ID, OLED display
Apple is apparently gearing up to drop a new version of its budget-friendly iPhone SE in early 2025. As per Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, the upcoming model will come with Face ID and support for Apple Intelligence. These features suggest a major performance upgrade for the new iPhone SE models, since running local AI features needs a lot of RAM and compute power.
New design and display upgrades
The upcoming iPhone SE is likely to flaunt a design akin to the iPhone 14, breaking away from its older models. This redesign means saying goodbye to the chunky top and bottom bezels and the home button, a first for Apple's budget-friendly smartphone series. Plus, there's chatter that the iPhone SE 4 will come with an OLED screen instead of the usual LCD.
Apple's concurrent product updates
Along with the new iPhone SE models, Apple is also gearing up to drop 11-inch and 13-inch iPad Air models with some "internal improvements," according to Gurman. These updates will come with new Magic Keyboards for both sizes, featuring some perks from the iPad Pro keyboard. Plus, Gurman thinks Apple will roll out new M4-equipped computers, including a compact Mac Mini, MacBook Pros, and iMacs, before the year wraps up.
