iPhone SE 3 with 5G support launched at Rs. 44,000
Apple has finally launched the new iPhone SE 3 (2022) at its "Peek Performance' event on Tuesday. It starts at Rs. 43,900 for the 64GB model in India. Pre-orders for the handset will begin at 6:30pm on March 11 and the sale starts on March 18. As for key highlights, it features an HD display, an A15 Bionic chipset, iOS 15.4, and 5G connectivity.
Why does this story matter?
The new iPhone SE 3 has debuted as the first 5G-supported handset in the iPhone SE line-up. However, design-wise, the phone looks exactly like its predecessor. The SE series is touted to be Apple's most affordable range of smartphones. The higher-than-expected starting price-tag of the device has, however, surprised many in India who expected the phone to cost between Rs. 30,000-40,000.
The handset is offered in three shades
The iPhone SE 3 features a glass front and back, prominent top and bottom bezels, an IP67-rated build quality, and a Touch ID sensor on the front. The handset bears a 4.7-inch HD (750x1334 pixels) IPS LCD display with 625-nits of peak brightness, True Tone, and a 326ppi pixel density. It is available in Midnight, Starlight, and (PRODUCT)RED color options.
It flaunts a 12MP main camera with Smart HDR 4
On the rear, the iPhone SE 3 sports a 12MP (f/1.8) camera with 5x digital zoom, Smart HDR 4, Photographic Styles, and LED flash. Up front, it has a 7MP (f/2.2) selfie snapper.
It boots iOS 15.4 out of the box
The iPhone SE 3 is powered by an A15 Bionic chipset, paired with 3GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage. Under the hood, it runs on iOS 15.4 and houses a battery with 20W fast-charging and Qi wireless charging support. For connectivity, the handset offers support for 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, GPS, and a Lightning port for charging.
