Apple March 8 event: What all products are expected?
Apple is gearing up for its first launch event of the year on March 8. The "Peek Performance" spring event is expected to see a slew of new products from the company. According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, we can expect a third-generation iPhone SE, a new iPad Air, and a cheaper Macbook Pro. The event will take place at 11:30pm IST.
Why does this story matter?
With the "Peek Performance" event set to take place on March 8, Apple has kept its tradition of March events alive. As is always the case, the Cupertino-based company's event announcement has the tech world running in circles. Reports have hinted that the event could see at least three new products. As the name suggests, the focus will be on internal upgrades.
iPhone SE 3 - the first SE model with 5G
The iPhone SE 3 is expected to retain the same design as the existing SE 2020 model. It will sport an IP67-rated metal-glass body with a Touch ID fingerprint reader and could bear a 4.7-inch LCD display. The handset may come with an upgraded rear camera. It will be powered by an A15 Bionic chip and should support 5G connectivity.
iPad Air 5th-generation may also get A15 chipset
The new iPad Air is not expected to come with a massive design overhaul. Like the previous version, it will sport proportionate bezels and a power button with a built-in Touch ID. It may bear a QHD+ Liquid Retina LCD display. Like the new iPhone SE, the iPad Air could also be fueled by an A15 Bionic chipset. It should also support 5G connectivity.
2022 MacBook Pro will not sport Touch Bar
The new MacBook Pro is expected to have a design similar to the version launched last year. However, it may not sport a Touch Bar. It is expected to be powered by Apple's new M2 processor, which is likely to be less powerful than the current-generation MacBook Pros with M1 Pro and M1 Max chipsets. Hence, it should be cheaper as well.
