iPhone 11 Pro Max beats Pixel 4 XL: Details here
Apple's iPhone 11 Pro Max has not only beaten the Google Pixel 4 XL in the camera department but also in terms of performance. According to an app speed and battery simulation test performed by YouTube channel PhoneBuff, Apple's flagship phone has outclassed the purest Android flagship out there by a healthy margin. Here are the details.
Let's understand the performance test, first
The performance test, as conducted by PhoneBuff, involved an app speed test wherein 16 apps (ranging from basic to heavy loaders) were launched, minimized, and relaunched to see if they remained live in the background. In the battery test, a simulation of calling, texting, video streaming, playing games, and other similar activities were performed to see which phone lasted longer on a full charge.
And, what were the results?
The iPhone 11 Pro Max finished the simulated app launch speed and RAM management test in 2 minutes and 39 seconds, beating Pixel 4 XL's time by 37 seconds. The Apple flagship, despite packing a lower 4GB RAM, outperformed the Pixel 4 XL (6GB RAM), thanks to its industry-leading Bionic A13 chipset which handles single-and-multi core functions more efficiently than Pixel's Snapdragon 855 processor.
How about battery performance?
In the battery test, instead of the Pro model, the iPhone 11 (3,110mAh) was pitted against Google's most advanced smartphone till date. The low-cost Apple flagship recorded an screen-on time of 8 hours and 43 minutes, which was 1 hour more than what the Pixel 4 XL (3,700mAh) could manage. However, it should be noted that the simulated and actual results may differ.
Pixel's 90Hz QHD display turned out to be power-hungry
For the battery test, it is hard to reach a conclusive result given the difference between the hardware specifications of these phones. While the iPhone 11 has a more power-efficient A13 chipset, it managed a longer screen-on time due to a lower-resolution 60Hz HD+ screen. In comparison, the Pixel 4 XL features a QHD+ display with a power-hungry refresh rate of 90Hz.
