iOS13 will warn if you delete apps with active subscriptions
Apple has added a new feature in iOS 13 that will help you manage app subscriptions in a better way. The feature, spotted in iOS 13 Beta 2, will issue a warning when you try to uninstall an app which still has an active subscription, and will provide you a link to manage your Apple ID subscriptions. Here's more on this handy feature.
Here's how the feature will work
The new iOS 13 feature won't automatically cancel your subscription when you delete an app. However, it will prompt you with a message saying "Do you want to keep the subscription for this app?", along with a quick link to manage your subscription or to keep it active. In case you want to cancel the service, you can tap on Manage Subscription and unsubscribe.
The feature will prove beneficial for iOS users
For a long time now, Apple has been criticized for making App Store subscriptions way too difficult to manage. And that has allowed shady developers to extract money from less tech-savvy users with junk apps. However, with this feature, you are less likely to forget about unwanted app subscriptions, and you will not have to sift through menus to manage your Apple ID subscriptions.
When will the feature release?
Currently, Apple is testing out the feature in the Beta 2 build of iOS 13. Hence, we can expect it to become widely available when iOS 13 officially releases sometime later this year.
Meanwhile, here's a look at some other iOS 13 features
Recently unveiled at Apple's WWDC, iOS 13 comes with a system-wide dark mode and major performance improvements including 30% faster Face ID unlocks, 2x faster app launches, and much smaller app downloads/updates. Apple has also improved several of its apps like Safari, Mail, Notes, Maps, Reminders, Photos, and even introduced a more natural sounding Siri, live lyrics in Music, and options to personalize Memojis.
