Don't update! iOS 12.1.3 fails to address connectivity issues
Just a few days back, Apple released iOS 12.1.3 for iPhone and iPad users around the globe. The update is being rolled out as an incremental release with only bug fixes and no new features. But, the sad part is, despite being solely focused on fixes, it fails to address one of the biggest issues flagged on previous iOS versions: connectivity. Here's more.
Problem of cellular data
Since the release of iOS 12.1.1, users have been reporting cases of broken cellular data and Wi-Fi. Not everyone is facing the problem, but several complaints have come from different parts of the world, including India, Malaysia, Egypt, Denmark, and the US. And more worryingly, instead of being fixed, the problem has only grown worse with every update, including the latest one.
Sprint even issued a warning
iOS 12.1.3 promises to fix multiple bugs, including those that may have prevented you from scrolling photos in Messages. However, it skips the data-killing bug, with several users still losing 3G/4G connectivity from their devices, failing to connect to the internet or even make calls. The situation is so bad that Sprint had to warn iPhone Xs, Xs Max, and Xr users about it.

Plus, there are other minor issues as well
While lack of cellular data is the biggest troublemaker, other issues have also been reported. For instance, irregular Wi-Fi or the case where notification badges don't go away.
So, wait till the fix rolls out
Having said that, it is recommended to refrain from updating to the latest version of iOS. It carries no new features and may unnecessarily compromise your iPhone's cellular data, affecting its basic functionality. Also, the real question is - when Apple will take note of this issue and deliver an update to end all connectivity-related problems once and for all.
