Instagram may soon allow sharing comments on Threads
Social media giant Meta is reportedly testing a new feature that could further integrate its messaging platform Threads with its flagship photo-sharing app, Instagram. This potential integration might allow users to share comments from Instagram posts directly into Threads conversations, according to app researcher Alessandro Paluzzi. The new functionality was revealed in an image shared by Paluzzi, which displayed a dropdown menu offering users the option to "also share on Threads."
Meta's previous integration efforts with Threads
In the past, Meta has taken several steps to integrate Threads with its other social media platforms. For instance, it has allowed posts from Threads to be displayed on Instagram or Facebook. Despite lacking its own direct messaging feature, Threads users can still send and receive messages via Instagram. These initiatives are part of a broader strategy by Meta to enhance user experience across its platforms.
Meta's integration of Threads with the fediverse
Meta is also working on integrating Threads with the fediverse, a decentralized network of social media platforms. This initiative has led to features like being able to view replies from the fediverse under their posts. The company continues to explore new ways for users to interact across different social media networks, enhancing connectivity and user engagement.
