Instagram allows re-sharing of posts as stories
Instagram has launched a new feature that allows users to re-share someone's post as a story. The idea behind the feature is to provide users with a way to easily broadcast their own comments, reactions, and thoughts on someone's post via the short 24-hour format. The feature is already live on Android and will roll out to iOS in the coming week.
Easier to share stuff you like with your followers
Posts will be re-shared in the form of stickers which can be rearranged, resized, and placed on customizable backgrounds before getting posted as a story. They can also be rotated, scaled, and moved around. And of course, you can still apply all the standard functions of an Instagram Story to them, including adding text, filters, and GIFs.
Re-share posts from your own account and other public accounts
You can only re-share posts from either your own account or a public Instagram account. And users with a public account can also choose to disable the new feature and others will no longer be able to re-share their posts. To re-share an Instagram post as a story, tap the paper airplane icon under it and select "Create a story with this post."
Re-share brand posts, memes
The post re-shared as a story will feature the original poster's username and a link to the original post. The feature can be used to support a friend's new venture or promote brands. It instantly increases viewership of a post and can boost account traffic.
