A pop-up camera smartphone at Rs. 10,000? Yes, it's happening
Infinix Mobile is all set to launch the budget-friendly S5 Pro in India on March 6. The company confirmed it officially via a teaser video, and revealed some of the key specifications of the phone including a 48MP triple rear camera and a pop-up selfie snapper. Besides that, the teaser also hints that the handset will be sold in the country through Flipkart.

Here's how the Infinix S5 Pro will look like
Infinix S5 Pro will come with an edge-to-edge screen with no notches and bezels, achieved by adopting a pop-up mechanism for the selfie camera. According to reports, the phone will house a 6.53-inch LCD screen with a full-HD+ resolution. On the rear, the gradient-finished panel will house a vertically stacked triple camera unit and a physical fingerprint sensor for secure biometric authentication.

The triple-lens rear camera setup on the S5 Pro will comprise a respectable 48MP primary sensor. However, the details of the other two lenses are not known yet. For the selfie lovers, the phone will house a 32MP front-facing camera housed in a pop-up module.
Under the hood
The company is yet to reveal the details of the internal hardware of the S5 Pro. But leaks suggest that the handset will pack an octa-core MediaTek processor and a solid 4,000mAh battery. The smartphone will run Android 10-based OS with the company's custom UI. Moreover, it will offer all the standard connectivity options like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, micro-USB port, and a headphone jack.

As for the pocket-pinch, the Infinix S5 Pro will reportedly be priced under Rs. 10,000. Notably, it is one of the rare smartphones in the country to offer a pop-up camera at this price point. Lastly, it will take on the likes of Huawei Y9 Prime, OPPO F11 Pro, and Redmi K20.
