From TVs to laptops, biggest announcements expected at IFA 2019
From September 6, Berlin will host Europe's biggest fest for technology enthusiasts, IFA 2019. The trade show isn't primarily focused on phones, as the Mobile World Congress, but is aimed at overall upgrades in the consumer tech arena, meaning fancier TVs, laptops, wearables, headphones, speakers, et al. Let's take a look at everything we could see this year at the event.
Powerful smartphones on the way
Samsung is likely to bring its redesigned (and fixed) Galaxy Fold, giving the public a chance to play with its folding display. Huawei, too, could put its Mate X or Honor 9X on display. Then, we also expect to see Nokia 5.2, 6.2, and 7.2, Sony's Xperia 2, LG's dual-screen flagship, presumably the successor to V50 ThinQ, and a few mid-rangers at the event.
Further, there will be fancy TVs, speakers, and more
Along with smartphones, we expect to see a number of launches in the audio/video category. Samsung, Sony, LG, the biggest players in the home appliance category, could launch some incredible televisions, with enhanced quality, size, and more tech crammed inside. Then, companies like Sony, Sonos, Panasonic, and Sennheiser would unveil upgraded audio gear, which could include stuff ranging from portable/smart speakers to wireless earbuds.
Faster laptops, game controllers, chips
Lenovo, Acer, ASUS, Dell all have scheduled their events, setting the stage for an exquisite show of mind-boggling computing hardware. Acer could show off some extraordinary gaming-related hardware, like last year's gaming chair or 2-in-in gaming laptop or some fancy controller. Intel and Qualcomm will also be present, and we would see or learn more about their new gaming/computing-focused chipsets for different devices.
You will also see upgraded wearables, smartwatches
Smartwatches will be all rage at this year's IFA, thanks to companies like Fitbit, Fossil and Garmin. Fitbit could showcase its recently announced Versa 2 affordable smartwatch while Garmin and Fossil could unveil a completely new line of wearables, including hybrid smartwatches. To note, Fossil may even show off some designer products under fashion brands- Diesel or Armani.
