Twitter's 250kg bird logo is up for auction (shipping extra!)
What's the story
The iconic 12-foot-tall bird logo, a former fixture at Twitter's San Francisco headquarters, is up for auction.
The giant sign that adorned the company's headquarters on Market Street was taken down after Elon Musk rebranded Twitter as X.
Bids for this one-of-a-kind piece of social media history currently sit at $21,664, as per RR Auction. Bidding will remain open until March 20.

Potential buyers should also be ready to shell out extra money to transport the sign from its current storage facility in San Francisco.
The logo is about 12 feet by 8 feet in size and weighs a whopping 254kg.
A YouTube video accompanying the auction listing shows it took a crane and several workers to remove the sign from its original location.
Past sales
Previous auctions of Twitter memorabilia
This isn't the first time a "Larry" logo (as former Tweeps named it) is up for auction.
After Musk's takeover of Twitter in 2022, several items from the company's former offices were auctioned off in 2023.
Smaller versions of this logo were all the rage back then, with one office statue selling for $100,000 and another large bird logo being sold during that sale for an undisclosed price.
