Hyundai's new i20 Active facelift launched at Rs. 6.99 lakh
Hyundai has launched a face-lifted version of its i20 Active car in India which is available for a starting price of Rs. 6.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). With this, the cross-hatch vehicle has undergone some cosmetic changes, the most notable of which is a new blue and white dual-tone paint job. In addition to the highlighted exterior, there are other subtle alterations as well.
Changes made to radiator grille, fog lamps, boot lid
On the front, the car's radiator grille has received a minor design tweak however it's still different from Hyundai's signature "cascade grille" which is being sported by most of the latest company models. It has also gotten a silver finish on the front fog lamps, revised front and rear bumpers, and an additional black rubber strip on the tip of the boot lid.
The car gets a new grayscale-themed infotainment system
On the inside, the i20 Active has received a brand new touchscreen unit and a hound-tooth pattern on the seat fabric. Both of these additions have been carried over from Hyundai's recently face-lifted Elite i20, the model which the i20 Active cross-hatch is actually based on. Notably, the face-lifted version of Elite i20 was launched at the 2018 Auto Expo held in February.
Blue highlights add some more drama to the cabin
The car also features blue-colored highlights on side AC vents, seats, and the gear knob, providing an overall new color theme to the vehicle. Notably, the tail lamp of the car remains unchanged in India, unlike the European variant of the i20 Active facelift.
Mechanically, Hyundai i20 Active remains unchanged
It is powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine delivering 83hp at 6,000rpm and mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. The diesel variant of the car is powered by a 1.4-litre U2 CRDi engine producing 90hp at 4,000rpm, mated to a six-speed manual transmission.
