Huawei's latest smartwatch supports a whopping 100 workout modes
Alongside the brand-new P40 flagship smartphones, Huawei has launched the new Watch GT 2e smartwatch in Europe. The wearable arrives as a sportier version of the GT Watch 2, featuring a water-resistant design, circular dial, up to two weeks of battery life, support for as many as 100 workout modes, and a SpO2 sensor that can track blood oxygen levels. Huawei Watch GT 2e: At a glance
The Huawei Watch GT 2e retains the circular dial design of the GT model but with rectangular push buttons. It can be picked up in black stainless steel or regular stainless steel case, paired with a TPU or fluoroelastomer strap available in red, black, mint, and white colors. The wearable has a 1.39 inch AMOLED touchscreen display with 454x454 resolution and 50m water resistance.
It supports as many as 100 workout modes
The Huawei Watch GT 2e supports as many as 100 workout modes including 85 custom workouts for rock climbing, parkour, street dancing, and skateboarding. The other 15 include professional sports such as climbing, running, swimming, triathlons, and cycling. The wearable also has a pre-installed personal fitness trainer, VO2Max (oxygen consumption per unit of time) monitoring, heart-rate and sleep monitoring, and SpO2 tracking.
You can even have customized watch faces
The Huawei smartwatch also comes with a host of watchfaces and you can customize them as per your preferences. You can choose from a host of colors as well as fonts, and even customize the data/information being displayed.
The smartwatch promises a battery life of two weeks
The GT 2e is powered by a Kirin A1, Huawei's first in-house chip for wearables. It offers 4GB of built-in storage for keeping apps and music. It supports Bluetooth 5.1 for pairing and houses a slew of sensors including an accelerometer, gyroscope, geomagnetic sensor, ambient light sensor, GPS, air pressure sensor, and others. Further, the smartwatch offers up to 14 days of battery life.
Pricing and availability
The Huawei GT 2e is priced at €199 (Rs. 16,400), and it will go on sale in the European market from April. As for its availability in India, there is no word yet, but we expect the wearable to be launched in the coming months.
