Huawei launches Honor Vision Smart TV in India: Details here
In a major move, Huawei has announced its Honor Vision smart television in the Indian market. The product, which went on sale in China a few months ago, comes as the first television from the technology giant in the country. It will be going on sale in 2020, but as of now, there's no word on its pricing or availability. Here are the details.
Honor Vision showcased at Indian Mobile Congress
Huawei graced the long-awaited Indian Mobile Congress by showing off Honor Vision smart TV. And while the company didn't unveil the television's elder sibling - Honor Vision Pro - it did detail its 1080p pop-up camera, seemingly indicating that the Pro model might also launch in India. The shooter rises from the top of the TV frame for seamless video calling.

They sport a 55-inch 4K display (3840×2160 pixels) with up to 400 nits of brightness and 178° viewing angle. Plus, you get four 10W speakers on Honor Vision and six on the Pro variant for an immersive audio experience.
What's under the hood?
The Honor Vision TV-series comes with Honghu 818 chipset, Mali-G51 GPU, 2GB RAM, and up to 32GB storage. The processor of the TV supports 4K video playback at up to 60fps, 64MP image decoding, HDR, noise reduction, and super-resolution upscaling. There are also modern connectivity options, including Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, three HDMI ports, one USB 3.0 port, and one Ethernet port.
HarmonyOS on the TV, not Android TV
Most importantly, both Honor Vision TVs run on Huawei's HarmonyOS, the Android competitor that features a "magazine-style" layout on the screen. It offers a number of features, including Chinese service integration, screencasting, video doorbell integration, and a streaming assistant.
How much will this TV cost?
Huawei says Honor Vision TV will go on sale in the first quarter of 2020 but has not provided its pricing details. In China, however, the base model costs CNY 3,799, which is roughly Rs. 38,200, while the Pro variant ships at CNY 4,799, which is approximately Rs. 48,200. Indian pricing would be similar or slightly more than this.
