Huawei to unveil three smartphones in the P20 series
Huawei, China's leading smartphone manufacturer, is all set to unveil its latest smartphones at the company's upcoming event on March 27 in Paris, France. With several leaks and reports buzzing on the internet, we have rounded up everything we know and expect to see in Huawei's latest offerings- the P20 Pro, P20 and P20 Lite. Here are the details.
Everything we know about the Huawei P20 so far
Touted as Huawei's 2018 flagship, the P20 is expected to feature a 5.7-inch full-HD+ (1080x2160 pixels) display with an 18:9 aspect ratio, an iPhone-like notch and a rear 16MP dual-camera setup. Notably, the phone will be powered by Huawei's in-house octa-core Kirin 970 chipset coupled with up to 8GB of RAM, up to 256GB inbuilt storage and a 3,320mAh battery
Huawei's P20 has a taller sibling: The P20 Pro
The Pro version will feature a taller 6-inch full-HD+ (1080x2160 pixels) display with an 18:9 aspect ratio, the same iPhone-like notch and a triple camera setup (more on that in the next card). The P20 Pro will also be powered by the Kirin 970 chipset along with up to 8GB RAM, up to 256GB inbuilt storage and a bigger 4,000mAh battery.
'SEE MOOORE WITH AI'
Recent leaked promo images read: "SEE MOOORE WITH AI". And as decoded by GSMArena, 'The three Os represent the three cameras' which will be AI powered. However, this promo may be P20 Pro exclusive given BGR also suggests that the Pro model may include a combination of 12-MP RGB and 16-MP monochrome sensor, with the third being a 16-MP telephoto lens.
Huawei P20 Lite to complete the P20 series
The Huawei P20 Lite, living by its name, will have mid-line specs. We expect the P20 Lite to sport a 5.6-inch display, an octa-core Kirin 659 processor coupled with 4GB RAM, 64GB inbuilt storage, and 3,520mAh battery. Unlike the other two smartphones in the series, the P20 Lite will bear a dual rear camera setup.
Launch and Price
It is certain that the three P20 series smartphones, featuring same dual front cameras and running EMUI 8.0 skin atop Android Oreo, will be unveiled on March 27. For pricing, a recent leak suggests the Huawei P20 will be priced at EUR 679 (Rs. 54,600) while P20 Pro will start at EUR 899 (Rs. 72,300), and the P20 Lite at EUR 369 (Rs. 29,700).
