Huawei announces Pura 70 series of smartphones with cutting-edge hardware
Huawei has unveiled its latest flagship smartphones, the Pura 70 Ultra and Pura 70 Pro+. This launch marks the company's first under their new 'Pura' branding, and the most significant launch since the globally recognized Mate 60 Pro in August 2023. These advanced devices are powered by HarmonyOS 4.2 and use Huawei's new Kirin 9010 chipset. They also offer satellite-based messaging services.
The Pura 70 Ultra boasts a 1.0-inch retractable camera
Both the Pura 70 Ultra and Pro+ models sport a 6.8-inch OLED LTPO panel with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. The triangular camera setup of the Pura 70 Ultra includes a retractable 1-inch 50MP (OIS) primary, a 40MP ultra-wide, and a 50MP (OIS) telephoto sensor. Meanwhile, the Pura 70 Pro+ comes with a 50MP (OIS) main, a 12.5MP ultra-wide, and a 48MP telephoto camera. Up front, both phones feature a 13MP selfie shooter.
The devices support 100W wired fast charging
The Pura 70 Ultra is powered by a 5,200mAh battery, while the Pro+ model houses a slightly smaller 5,050mAh battery. Both models support 100W wired and 20W reverse wired charging. They also offer 80W wireless and 20W reverse wireless charging. These devices offer a range of connectivity options as well, including Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, NFC, and others.
Pricing and availability of Huawei's new flagship phones
The Pura 70 Ultra starts at CNY 9,999 (nearly ₹1,15,000) for the 16GB/512GB variant. The model with 1TB storage is priced at CNY 10,999 (around ₹1,26,800). The Pura 70 Pro+ is available at CNY 7,999 (roughly ₹92,000) for the variant with 16GB/512GB storage and CNY 8,999 (approximately ₹1,03,000) for the 1TB storage version. The Pura lineup also includes the regular Pura 70 and Pura 70 Pro models, with slightly toned down specs. All four devices are currently limited to China.
