Huawei's P40 Pro 5G listed on Geekbench, key details revealed
Chinese tech giant Huawei is all set to launch its flagship P40 series of smartphones on March 26. And now, the ultra-premium P40 Pro 5G model has been spotted on the benchmarking platform Geekbench, revealing its key internal hardware details. Separately, previous leaks have suggested that the phone will feature an in-trend dual punch-hole design and house a 52MP penta-lens rear camera. Here's more.

Geekbench is a cross-platform processor benchmark platform which grades processors on their single-core and multi-core performances. While calculating multi-core scores, Geekbench runs multiple streams of instructions simultaneously per core and reports an aggregate score. With single-core scores, the same process is applied but on a single core. The quicker a CPU completes the instructions, the higher is its Geekbench score.
What are the scores of the Huawei P40 Pro?
The Huawei P40 Pro is listed on Geekbench with model number: ELS-NX9. The listing, with an upload date of March 13, reveals that the handset has received a single-core score of 776 and a multi-core score of 3,182.
How will Huawei P40 Pro look like?
Going by a previous leak, the Huawei P40 Pro will come with an edge-to-edge screen featuring a dual punch-hole design with curved edges on the sides as well as top and bottom. Apart from that, the flagship handset is likely to offer a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen with a QHD+ (1440x3160 pixels) resolution and an under-display fingerprint sensor.
For the shutterbugs and selfie lovers
On the imaging front, the Huawei P40 Pro 5G is said to offer a penta-lens rear camera setup comprising a mighty 52MP primary lens, paired with a 40MP ultra-wide-angle camera, a periscope lens with 10x optical zoom, a telephoto sensor, and another ToF lens. Up front, the flagship handset will house a dual-lens selfie camera.
Under the hood
The Geekbench listing does not reveal the name of the processor that would power the P40 Pro, but reports suggest that the handset would pack a 5G-ready Kirin 990 octa-core chipset. Under the hood, it would run Android 10-based EMUI 10. However, just like other recently launched Huawei phones, it may also lack support for Google services.
