Huawei P30 Pro tipped to get five cameras, waterdrop notch
Huawei, with its P20 Pro and Mate 20 Pro flagships, has definitely aced the smartphone camera war this year. And now, the company looks to further up its game in 2019. According to leaked renders, its latest flagship P30 Pro will come with a total of five cameras - a quad rear-camera setup and a single selfie snapper housed in the display cutout. Here's our roundup.
Huawei P30 Pro: At a glance
According to leaked renders, the Huawei P30 Pro will adopt a waterdrop-like notched display to boast of a bezel-less design and increased screen-to-body ratio. Moreover, the renders show there won't be a physical fingerprint sensor. Hence, we can expect the P30 Pro to come with an in-display fingerprint sensor - a welcome change over the front-mounted scanner on the P20 Pro.
Huawei to offer a quad rear-camera setup on P30 Pro
Huawei is looking to offer a quad rear-camera setup on the P30 Pro that will offer 10x lossless zoom. The optics will be co-engineered in partnership with LEICA. As per renders, the camera module looks similar to that of P20 Pro, but with some minor position changes and an additional lens. Up front, the phone will have a single selfie snapper.
Huawei P30 Pro should come with Kirin 980 chipset
Given Huawei Mate 20 Pro recently debuted the latest 7nm octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 980 processor, we can expect to see the same chipset on P30 Pro as well. Further, the processor would come paired with upto 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. Lastly, the phone should run Android Pie-based EMUI 9, given the OS was just released for several Huawei smartphones.
Huawei could launch P30 series in February 2019
As the successor to the current line-up of P20 smartphones, Huawei will launch the P30 series early next year. As per reports, the Chinese tech giant could launch P30 Pro, P30, and P30 Lite smartphones at the Mobile World Congress 2019, which is scheduled to be hosted in Barcelona from February 25-28.
