Huawei Nova 4 with 48MP camera to launch today
Huawei is all set to launch its Nova 4 smartphone today in China. So far, several teasers and leaks have revealed the phone's in-screen camera design and 48MP camera sensor. And now, ahead of the launch, Huawei Nova 4 has been spotted on benchmarking platforms GeekBench and AnTuTu, confirming the key specifications. Here's everything to know.
Here's how Nova 4 has performed on GeekBench and AnTuTu
The phone, with model number Huawei VCE-AL00, has appeared on benchmarking platforms GeekBench and AnTuTu. Both the listings confirm that Nova 4 will come with a Kirin 970 chipset, 8GB of RAM and run Android Pie out-of-the-box. In terms of performance, the phone scored 215,981 points on AnTuTu. On GeekBench, it scored 1,997 on single-core performance and 6,605 on multi-core.
And, what are GeekBench's scores?
GeekBench is a cross-platform processor benchmark platform which grades processors on their single-core and multi-core performances. While calculating multi-core scores, GeekBench runs multiple streams of instructions simultaneously per core and reports an aggregate score. With single-core scores, the same process is applied but on a single core. Notably, the quicker a CPU completes the instructions, the higher is its GeekBench score.
Huawei Nova 4 will come in two variants
According to a previous leak, Huawei will launch two versions of Nova 4 - presumably, 'standard' and 'pro'. Both variants will sport the same design and specifications. The only difference between them will be that the 'pro' model will feature a 48MP camera.
Meanwhile, here's how Huawei Nova 4 will look like
Up front, the Nova 4 will feature an in-screen camera design and a slim bottom bezel, allowing for a screen-to-body ratio of 91.8%. Further, on the back, the phone will pack a three camera setup - much like the Huawei P20 Pro. Lastly, Nova 4 will feature a 6.4-inch display with full HD+ resolution (2310x1080 pixels) and an aspect ratio of 19.25:9.
And, what about the camera
The standard version of Nova 4 will pack a 20MP+16MP+2MP triple rear-camera module whereas the pro model will sport a 48MP+16MP+2MP camera setup on the back. However, it is not certain if the 48MP sensor will be the Sony IMX586 or Samsung Bright GM1. Up front, both the models will come with a 25MP selfie snapper with AI-based image enhancements.
Under the hood
According to previous leaks and the latest benchmark listings, the Huawei Nova 4 will be powered by a Kirin 970 processor, paired with GPU Turbo technology, 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Further, the phone will pack a 3,750mAh battery with 18W fast charging, support 4G VoLTE connectivity, and should run Android Pie-based EMUI 9.0 out-of-the-box.
