Huawei's Nova 3, Nova 3i with four AI cameras launched
Huawei has launched its latest camera-centric smartphones, the Nova 3 and Nova 3i in India today. The key highlights of the phones are their taller notched displays and quad cameras (dual camera setup in the front and back). Notably, both the Nova 3 phones will be sold exclusively via Amazon. Nova 3 and Nova 3i: Price and availability
Nova 3 costs Rs. 34,999 (6GB/128GB) while Nova 3i is priced at Rs. 20,990 (4GB/128GB). Both the phones will be offered in Iris Purple and Black colors. Launch offers include Rs. 2,000 exchange discount, no-cost EMIs, and Rs. 1,200 cashback and 100GB data from Jio. The Nova 3 sale will start from August 23, while Nova 3i (pre-bookings open) will be available starting August 7.
Huawei Nova 3: At a glance
The Nova 3 sports a 6.3-inch (1080x2340 pixels) full HD+ display with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio and 85% NTSC color gamut coverage. The phone is powered by an octa-core Huawei HiSilicon Kirin 970 chipset, paired with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage (expandable up to 256GB). It supports dual SIM (Nano) cards, runs Android Oreo 8.1-based EMUI 8.2 and packs a 3,750mAh battery.
The Nova 3 gets dual-cameras on both front and back
On the back, the Huawei Nova 3 gets a 16MP+24MP dual camera setup with an f/1.8 aperture for both sensors and support for PDAF and AI scene recognition. Up front, there is a 24MP+2MP setup which offers AR-based 3D Qmoji and supports face unlock.

Under the hood, the phone gets an octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 710 processor, coupled with 4GB RAM and 128GB of inbuilt storage (expandable up to 256GB) It supports dual-SIM (Nano) cards, runs Android Oreo 8.1-based EMUI 8.2 and packs a 3,340mAh battery.
What are the cameras like on Nova 3i?
The Huawei Nova 3i sports rear camera setup comprising 16MP and 2MP sensors. However, the front camera remains the same as on the Nova 3 with a 24MP primary sensor and a 2MP secondary sensor, along with support for AI-powered Scene detection and selfie enhancement.
Both phones get standard connectivity options and sensors
Both the phones support 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11a/c, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/A-GPS, and headphone jack. Notably, Nova 3 gets USB Type-C port while Nova 3i has a micro-USB port. Sensors onboard Nova 3 smartphones include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, digital compass, gyroscope, proximity sensor, a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. Notably, Nova 3i gets a 360-degree Face Unlock while Nova 3 comes with IR Face Unlock.
Nova 3 and Nova 3i also get AI Shopping feature
Both the phones get AI-powered shopping feature which uses Amazon's product list to search an item for you. To use this feature, you must have Amazon app on your device and by long-pressing on object/item, your Nova 3 phones will find the item for you.
