Huawei Nova 3, Nova 3i to launch on July 26
Huawei is expected to launch its latest camera-centric smartphones, Nova 3 and Nova 3i, in India on July 26. While Huawei has not officially confirmed the moniker, the official invite sent by the company hints at Nova 3 smartphones. The invitation's image shows a notch-based smartphone with dual front and rear cameras - something we have seen on the Nova 3 smartphones.
Huawei Nova 3: At a glance
The Nova 3 sports a 6.3-inch (1080x2340 pixels) full HD+ notch-based display with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by an octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 970 processor, paired with Mali-G72 GPU, 6GB RAM and 64GB/128GB storage variants (expandable up to 256GB). The Nova 3 gets dual-cameras on both front and back
On the back, the Nova 3 gets a 16MP+24MP dual camera setup with an f/1.8 aperture for both sensors and support for PDAF and AI scene recognition. Up front, there is a 24MP+2MP setup which offers AR-based 3D Qmoji and supports face unlock.
Everything we know about Nova 3i
As a mid-spec variant of the Nova 3, Huawei will soon launch Nova 3i as well. According to leaks, it will have a design similar to that of Nova 3 i.e. a notch-based, dual cameras on front and back, and rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. The phone will be powered by an all-new Kirin 710 processor, coupled with 4GB/6GB RAM, 64GB/128GB storage, and a 3,340mAh battery.
Camera specs on the Nova 3i
The Huawei Nova 3i gets a rear camera setup comprising 16MP and 2MP sensors. However, the front camera setup remains the same as on the Nova 3 with a 24MP primary sensor and a 2MP secondary sensor.
Thanks to GPU Turbo, both phones will offer 4D gaming-experience
Both phones are powered by GPU Turbo - Huawei's latest graphics processing acceleration technology which leverages hardware-software integration to enhance graphics performance by 60% and lower energy consumption by up to 30%. GPU Turbo is also touted to offer "4D" gaming experience which uses Artificial Intelligence for real-time image and sound recognition, and intelligent game vibrations for effects like explosions, gunshots etc.
Huawei Nova 3 series smartphones will be Amazon exclusive
Last week, Huawei confirmed that its latest Nova 3 smartphones will be sold exclusively via Amazon. Moreover, looking at the China pricing of these phones, the Nova 3 is likely to be priced around Rs. 30,000 while Nova 3i may cost around Rs. 20,000.
