Differences in screen size and shape
Both the new high-end Huawei Mate 10 phones have similar specs but have external differences. Mate 10 has a 5.9-inch LCD while Pro features a 6-inch OLED. They have FullView display, tiny bezels, and premium build-quality matching Huawei's rival, Samsung's phones. Mate 10 has a front-facing fingerprint-scanner, memory card slot, and headphone jack. The Pro has a rear fingerprint-sensor, IP67-waterproofing, and IR blaster.
Phones don't require dock system, unlike Samsung Galaxy Note 8
Both Huawei Mate 10 and Pro have 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage (Pro has 6GB/128GB variant). The dual-SIM phones have 4,000mAh battery with quick-charging technology. They have 20MP+12MP rear cameras and an 8MP front camera. They run Huawei's custom Android EMUI 8 built on Android Oreo. Users can attach devices via Bluetooth and USB-C to perform desktop-like functions without any dock system.
Mate 10 phones feature Huawei's latest Kirin 970 processor
The Mate 10 and Pro are powered by Huawei's Kirin 970 processor with neural processor similar to iPhone 8's A11 Bionic processor. Neural processor helps in running on-device AI for live-translation, advanced scene detection, and photography techniques. The built-in AI learns user habits; the device can predict when a user launches an app or performs some action to enhance the processes and save battery.

Advantage of inbuilt AI
Huawei Mate 10 series has built-in AI which gives it an advantage of running AI on the device instead of contacting a server for performing functions. All the data processing can be done locally, which helps in speeding up the processes and boosting user privacy.
Huawei could surpass Apple in 2017-18
Research firm IDC's European Mobile Devices' Research Director, Francisco Jeronimo, said Huawei could overtake Apple in the smartphone market in 2017 or 2018. He said: "Huawei is at the front of a race that's all about making smartphones smarter, leading it with Apple, Google and Samsung. Indeed they are growing very fast." In this year's second-quarter, Huawei shipped 38.5-million units with 11.3% market share.
