Huawei launches the most powerful camera smartphones: P20, P20 Pro
Huawei has launched its P20 and P20 Pro smartphones in an official launch event in Paris. As leaked earlier, the major difference between the two phones is that while the P20 Pro will have a triple camera setup, the P20 will only have dual primary cameras. The Huawei P20 is priced at Rs. 52,200 while the P20 Pro is priced at Rs. 72,300.
P20 Pro has triple camera setup, a whopping 40MP sensor
The Huawei P20 Pro has three rear cameras comprising of 40MP+20MP and 8MP sensors. It also has a premium hybrid zoom support which translates into 3x optical zoom, 5x lossless hybrid zoom, and 10x digital zoom. The Huawei P20 has dual rear cameras comprising of 20MP+12MP sensors. Its camera features superior low-light photography performance and a 3D portrait lighting effect.
The smartphones are dual-tone, reflect different colors depending on light
Another interesting aspect of the phone is its dual-tone paint job that reflects different colors depending on how it catches the light. The smartphones are available in the four color variants of Graphite Black, Midnight Blue, Pink Gold (gradient), and Twilight (gradient).
P20, P20 Pro feature slow-mo video recording at 960fps
Both smartphones feature 128GB of storage, 24MP front camera and slow-mo video recording at 960fps. They are powered by Huawei's home-based octa-core Kirin 970 processor and run the EMUI 8.1, which is based on the Android Oreo 8.1 OS. The P20 Pro features a 6.1-inch display, 6GB RAM, and a 4,000mAh battery. The P20 features a 5.8-inch display, 4GB RAM, and a 3,400mAh battery.
The AI-powered camera can recognize objects, outline shapes
Both smartphones offer 4D Predictive Focus that allows randomly moving objects to remain in focus with nearly "zero shutter lag." Both cameras are AI-powered that can recognize over 500 scenarios in 19 categories and understand the outlines of shapes. The phones have a notch on the front and gesture support on the home button. They are dust- and water-resistant, and support wireless charging.
Huawei has also launched a P20 Porsche Edition
The phones support Google ARCore, customized Google Assistant, and 360-degree Face Unlock feature which works in as little as 0.6 seconds. The devices also have a PC Mode, using which users can connect the smartphones to a monitor and replicate a PC-style experience. Huawei has also launched a Porsche Design Mate RS that features a whopping 512GB of storage and an in-display fingerprint sensor.
