HP Omen 15 gaming laptop with 4K display launched
HP has announced the upgraded version of its gaming laptop, the Omen 15. As compared to its earlier version, the 2018 Omen 15 sports a slimmer frame, thinner bezels, and top-end internals. Alongside the refreshed Omen 15, the company has also launched a slew of accessories including a gaming headset, keyboard, mouse, and backpack. Here's more about the HP Omen 15.
At a glance
The HP Omen 15 gets the same overall design language as last year's and weighs around 2.4 kilograms. It features a 15.6-inch diagonal display with NVIDIA G-Sync technology and is offered in 144Hz 1080p, 80Hz 4K, or 60Hz 1080p display options. The laptop also gets extra vents, and fans with larger fins, Bang & Olufsen stereo speakers, inbuilt game-stream technology and supports DTS headphones.
Driven by latest Intel i8 processors
The HP Omen is powered by 8th-generation Intel processors with options ranging up to Core i+ H-series in six and quad-core configurations. For graphics performance, you get NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 Max Q GPU, along with GTX 1050 and GTX 1060 as cheaper options. Onboard memory includes a 32GB DDR4-2666 RAM with the storage capacity ranging from SSD, HDD, SSD+HDD, and Intel Optane Memory.
Price and Availability
The laptop will be available from July 29 on HP's e-store and other retailers, at a starting price of $979.99 (approx. Rs. 66,100). The top-end variant with the GTX1070 Max-Q GPU and 4K screen will cost $1,699 (approx. Rs. 1,14,500).
HP has also launched a range of Omen gaming accessories
HP has launched the Omen Mindframe headset which is claimed to be the world's first headset with active earcup cooling technology. Another accessory is the Omen HP Sequencer Keyboard which offers 0.2ms response time, customizable backlit RGB LED keys and a USB port. Other accessories include Omen Reactor Mouse, Omen X Transceptor Backpack, Omen Mouse 400, Omen Mouse Pad 200, and Omen Hard Mouse Pad 200.
