JioPhone deliveries start, here's how you can track your order
On Sunday, Reliance Jio started shipping six million units of the much-anticipated JioPhone. Deliveries of the JioPhone were slated to begin in early September but it got delayed. The six million devices will first be distributed to rural markets with deliveries expected to be completed in 10-15 days. If you've pre-booked the JioPhone, here's how you can track your device's delivery status.
How to track your JioPhone order
You can visit the track order page on Jio's official website (https://www.jio.com/shop/viewOrderDetails) and find the delivery status by entering your order number. You can download and login to the MyJio app using your registered number. This will allow you to track your JioPhone order. You can also call 18008908900 to know details about your JioPhone's delivery date.
Jio will also update you about your delivery status
Jio will send you updates on your registered mobile number once the device is made available at a Jio store near you. The store selection is based on the pin code you've submitted while pre-booking. While taking delivery of your JioPhone, remember to carry your Aadhaar card for verification. You will also have to make the balance Rs. 1,000 payment at the store.
About the JioPhone: Specifications
The 4G VoLTE feature phone comes with a 2.40-inch display and 240x320 resolution. A unique feature is that it facilitates secure mobile payments through NFC, like Apple Pay or Samsung Pay. It supports 22 Indian languages. Long-pressing 5 will send a distress message to chosen contacts. Another interesting accessory is the JioPhone Cable TV, which lets users to connect their phones to television.
Costs, plans and more
The phone is being given for free, but customers will have to pay a security deposit of Rs. 1,500, refundable after 36 months. A monthly plan of Rs. 153 will come by default. It will have unlimited calling and data capped at 500MB daily. The Rs. 309 plan is mandatory for JioPhone TV. There are also new 'sachet plans', including seven-day and two-day plans.
