Jio launches new 'Group Talk' conference calling app: Details here
India's leading telecom giant Reliance Jio is expanding its portfolio of apps with a new product for conference calls. The company has launched 'Jio Group Talk', a platform that can be used to call up to 10 people simultaneously. It comes with a range of features and is available on Google Play Store for trial. Here's how you can use Jio Group Talk.
Jio Group Talk: Key features
With Group Talk, Jio offers a seamless solution to connect with multiple contacts. The app lets you make HD voice calls and offers interesting features like the ability to make groups for one-touch calling and options to add/remove participants during a call or mute them. There's also a 'lecture mode' that mutes all participants except the caller, allowing him/her to speak as others listen.
Plus, you can also schedule group calls
The app also offers an option to schedule conference calls in advance. However, do note that this particular isn't active at this stage.
So, how to use Jio Group Talk app
To start using Jio Group Talk, download the app from Google Play Store and sign-in with your name and Jio mobile number. Here, it is important to note that the app, just like other Jio offerings, works only when you have Jio SIM installed in the phone. The number will be verified via OTP, following which the app would be available for making calls.
Recipients don't have to be Jio customers
While Jio Group Talk users need to have an active Jio number to use the service, it should be noted that the people who will receive the group call can be on any network; they will see the call just as a regular one. Also, TelecomTalk reports that app would soon get more capabilities, including the option to chat and make group video calls.
