The platform also allows users to create individual profiles on a single account. Each profile is customized according to the user's viewing history and preferences, improving the overall viewing experience by offering personalized recommendations on all devices connected with Prime Video.
A personalized viewing experience
A Prime Video account can support up to six user profiles, including the main one and five others. These profiles not only keep track of each person's watch progress but also keep a Watchlist of their favorite content. This way, users can easily organize and access the content they want to watch later, further enhancing their personalized viewing experience on the platform.
Prime Video Kid's profile for safe viewing environment
Prime Video also has a Kid's profile, which is designed for kids aged 12 and under. It restricts access to content with higher maturity ratings and prevents any purchases from being made. If a Kid's profile stays inactive for more than 18 months, Amazon Prime Video will automatically remove it from the account. The feature ensures a safe and age-appropriate viewing environment for younger viewers on the platform.
How to lock your profile?
Prime Video offers the option for the primary account holder to configure an Account PIN. This can be used to lock their profile, override restrictions on other profiles, and even prevent the creation of new ones. To lock your profile, sign in to Prime Video, click on profile icon, and select "Manage profiles." Now, choose a profile, click on "Edit profile" > "Manage" beside "Account PIN and locks" Set an Account or profile lock PIN, and save.
Setting up new profiles
Setting up new Prime Video profiles is a pretty simple task on both mobile browser and web. All you have to do is sign in to your Prime Video account, click on the profile icon, select 'Add new," and enter the name. You can enable the toggle beside the "Kids profile" for creating a kid's profile. Click on the pencil icon to edit the profile picture and press Save at the bottom to confirm.
