How to manage tags before they hit your Facebook's timeline
What's the story
In the age of the internet, managing your digital footprint is crucial.
Facebook offers a feature called Timeline Review that gives you control over tags in posts.
Our tutorial teaches you how to enable and use it on Android, so nothing gets on your timeline without your approval.
Follow these steps and keep your Facebook profile as private and curated as you want it to be.
Settings access
Enabling timeline review on Android
First, launch the Facebook app on your Android device and sign in to your account.
Locate the "More" tab at the bottom right corner of the screen and tap on it.
Then, select "Settings and Privacy," and tap on "Settings" to access a wide range of options designed to customize your experience.
Profile and tagging settings
Fine-tuning your tagging preferences
Navigate to the settings menu, and select Audience and Visibility. Under Profile and Tagging, you can manage who sees posts you're tagged in.
In the Reviewing section, look for two options: "Review posts you're tagged in before the post appears on your profile?" and "Review tags people add to your posts?"
Switch both to On for complete control over tags.
Using Timeline Review
Managing tags with ease
If you have Timeline Review enabled, you'll get notifications when tagged. You can then choose to approve or hide them; approving will add them to your timeline, hiding won't.
You can check any pending tags by going to "Settings and Privacy," then "Activity Log," and finally "Timeline, Photo, and Tag Review." This section will show all the tags awaiting your approval.
