Facing data connectivity problem on iOS 12.1.2? Try this fix
Over the last few days, several iPhone users have taken to Twitter to report a cellular data-killing bug. The problem was initially limited to Turkey, but ever since Apple released iOS 12.1.2 to fix it, the issue has expanded to all continents. Many are affected in India too but fret not, there might be a way to fix it. Let's take a look.
How iOS 12.1.2 is breaking cellular data?
Though the complaints are widespread, most of them indicate that updating to iOS 12.1.2 is breaking cellular data. As a result, users are facing problems in connecting to the internet from their mobile network and are being forced to look for W-Fi. Some said that the internet doesn't work at all, while others claimed it worked for some apps like Facebook.
But, why is this happening?
So far, Apple has not commented on the matter, which means there's no way to tell why this problem is occurring. It is also worth noting that the problem is affecting some iPhones, at random. It is not that every iPhone user updating to iOS 12.1.2 has seen the problems. However, if you are, ZolloTech has given a possible workaround to fix it.
Possible workaround to fix iOS 12.1.2 cellular data problems
In a recent clip, ZolloTech's Aaron notes that the connectivity problem can be solved with two back-to-back steps. For this, disable 'Wi-Fi calling' by heading to 'Settings' and 'Cellular'. Then, go back to the options listed under 'Cellular' and head over to 'Cellular data options'. Here, tap on 'Enable LTE' and switch from 'Voice & Data' to 'Data Only'.
This is just a temporary fix
Do note that this is just a temporary fix and may or may not patch the connectivity issue on your device. However, unless Apple pushes an official fix, there's nothing wrong with trying it out.
