Want to create WhatsApp stickers using selfies? Here's the way
After a long wait, WhatsApp started rolling out stickers for its Android and iOS apps. The feature is pretty much similar to that of other messaging apps but has been received enthusiastically by WhatsApp users across the globe. More interestingly, you can not only download stickers but can also make your own packs - by turning selfies into stickers. Here's how.
Get an app for creating custom stickers
WhatsApp comes with some pre-installed stickers, but you can also download more packs from Google Play Store. However, to create stickers of your own face, you'll have to create a custom pack with a third-party app. There are many apps for this, but the ones easiest to use are 'Sticker Studio' and 'Sticker Maker'. In order to proceed further, download either one of them.
After that, select, edit images
Once you've downloaded the app, take a selfie or use an existing photo to make a sticker out of it. On Sticker Studio, you can do this by tapping on the '+' button at the bottom, while on Sticker Maker, you'll have to head over to the 'Create a new stickerpack' option. Next, crop the photo with your finger to remove its background.
Add photos into the pack, export to WhatsApp
After selecting and cropping the first photo, you can repeat the same process and add as many as photo-stickers as you want to. Once you're done, you can export the custom-made pack into WhatsApp by hitting the publish button on Sticker Maker or the 'WhatsApp' icon on Sticker Studio. Note that you'll have to create at least three stickers to successfully add a pack.
Now, you're good to go
After exporting the pack, you'll see your own images as stickers on WhatsApp. With this capability, you can create some meme-worthy stickers of your own face and fill the gap that emojis/memojis/animojis are trying to fill. Also, who knows, future updates of these apps might bring enhanced customization options to make your stickers more interactive.
