Huawei's sub-brand Honor has launched the MagicBook Pro 2019 (Ryzen Edition) in China. The new model, with Ryzen-series chipset and Vega 8/Vega 10 GPU, arrives as the refreshed version of the MagicBook Pro which was launched in July this year. As for key highlights, it comes with a metallic body, full-HD display, physical fingerprint sensor, and mid-level internals. Here's our roundup.
First, here's a look at the notebook
The Honor MagicBook Pro 2019 (Ryzen Edition) comes with an aluminium body featuring a conventional rectangular display with 4.9mm thin bezels, offering a 90% screen-to-body ratio. The laptop sports a 16.1-inch LED display with a full-HD (1920x1080 pixels) resolution and a physical fingerprint sensor under the power button. Moreover, it comes with custom-made fans to improve the airflow and avoid overheating.
Under the hood
The MagicBook Pro 2019 (Ryzen Edition) is available with Ryzen 5 3550H and Ryzen 7 3750H processors, paired with AMD Radeon RX Vega 8/Vega 10 GPU. As for memory options, it offers up to 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD storage. The laptop runs Windows 10 Home OS (Linux as optional) and packs a 56Wh battery which keeps it alive for 10 hours.
Connectivity options, audio and other features
As far as connectivity is concerned, the MagicBook Pro 2019 (Ryzen Edition) comes with dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, three USB 3.0 ports, a USB Type-C port, and microphone as well as a headphone jack. Further, it sports a 1MP webcam which supports 720p HD video recording, and dual speakers with Dolby Atmos support for a gripping audio experience.

The MagicBook Pro 2019 (Ryzen Edition) costs CNY 4,999 (approximately Rs. 50,350) for the entry-level Ryzen 5-powered 8GB/512GB variant. The Ryzen 5-powered 16GB/512GB model and Ryzen 7-powered 8GB/512GB variant, on the other hand, cost CNY 5,199 (approximately Rs. 52,360). Meanwhile, the Linux-based variant with Ryzen 5 chipset, 8GB RAM and 512GB storage is priced at CNY 4,399 (approximately Rs. 44,285).
