Honor Magic 2 teased with OPPO Find X-like sliding camera
As the successor to the 2016's Magic smartphone, Huawei-owned Honor has teased the Magic 2 at the ongoing IFA 2018 trade show. The teasers suggest Honor Magic 2 will feature a bezel-less all-screen design along with a sliding camera module, much like the OPPO Find X. Further, the company has also revealed other key specifications of the phone. Here's our roundup.
Honor Magic 2: At a glance
Honor's President, George Zhao has teased some of the key design features and specs of the upcoming Magic 2. Notably, the phone would feature an all-screen design with a FullView display having no notch and no noticeable bezels. And to achieve this design, Honor has placed the front camera and possibly other sensors in a slider module.
Magic 2 will get an OPPO Find X-like camera
Like mentioned above, the official teaser shows Honor 2 Magic will have a sliding camera, like the OPPO Find X. Further, given the front camera is not a pop-up module like Vivo Nex, it is safe to say that the rear camera will also be cased in the slider. That said, it is still not clear if the slider will be motorized or manual.
Under the hood
Honor Magic 2 will be powered by Huawei's recently launched 7nm Kirin 980 processor. This new processor is said to offer 20% increased performance and 40% more efficiency than previous-generation 10nm chips. Moreover, the phone will come with an in-house 40W 'Magic Charge' (fast-charging) technology which has a 15-layer safety protection system and auto identification of the battery, cable, and charger for safety.
