Honor 9X, which was launched in China in July, is likely to arrive in India this year. In the latest update, Charles Peng, President of Honor India, has revealed that the company will launch the mid-range phone in the country by 2019-end. The handset comes with a notch-less screen, 48MP dual rear cameras, and mid-level internals. Here's our roundup.
No word on the India launch of Honor 9X Pro
Notably, the Honor 9X went official in China along with the more premium Honor 9X Pro. However, there is no word on the availability of the latter in India as of now.
Meanwhile, let's recall Honor 9X
As far as its specifications are concerned, it sports a notch-less edge-to-edge screen designed achieved by adopting a pop-up selfie camera module. On the rear, the gradient finished panel with angular patterns houses a dual camera unit. The handset comes with a 6.59-inch LCD display, offering full-HD+ (1080x2340 pixels) resolution and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. It also gets a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication.
For the shutterbugs and selfie lovers
On the imaging front, the Honor 9X houses a dual rear camera setup comprising a 48MP (f/1.8) main sensor and a secondary 2MP (f/2.4) sensor to capture depth details. For the selfie lovers, there is a 16MP (f/2.2) front-facing snapper housed in the motorized pop-up module. Moreover, both the front as well as rear cameras are capable of recording 1080p videos at 30fps.
Under the hood
The Honor 9X is powered by a Kirin 810 octa-core processor, paired with upto 6GB RAM and upto 128GB storage. Under the hood, it runs Android Pie-based EMUI 9.1 and packs a 4,000mAh battery with 10W fast-charging technology. In addition, the phone offers all standard connectivity options including dual-SIMs (Nano), dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, Type-C port, and headphone jack.
And, what will be the pricing?
At present, there is no word on the India pricing of Honor 9X. However, given that the smartphone starts at CNY 1,399 (approximately Rs. 14,000) in China, we expect it to arrive at a similar price. The competition in this price segment is hard to ignore, and the upcoming handset will face tough contest from Realme X, Vivo Z1 Pro, and OPPO K3.
