WhatsApp Scam: Message claiming to offer free plane-tickets is fake!
Recently, a fake message, in the form of a note from Singapore Airlines claiming to offer free plane tickets, started doing rounds on WhatsApp chats across the world. The message directs users to a link, in order to falsely steal their personal information. Now, Singapore Airlines, has, in an official post, advised users to ignore such hoax messages. The message has been identified as another WhatsApp phishing scam
"Singapore Airlines is giving away Free tickets to celebrate its 70th Anniversary," reads the message, followed by a link, set up to falsely obtain sensitive personal information from users.
Singapore Airlines has warned users against the fake offer
Singapore Airlines took to its official Facebook page to rubbish the fake scheme, and advised users to ignore the phishing link. It has also reported the website. According to the statement, "It has come to our attention that there is a website that claims to be from Singapore Airlines, offering free air tickets as prizes, before proceeding to request personal data."

Not the first case of its kind
This is not the first time such a message has appeared on the instant messaging platform. Earlier this month, the infamous 'WhatsApp Gold' hoax made a comeback. The scam-message claims to offer users an updated version of WhatsApp, with advanced features, thereby tricking them into visiting a malware site. That apart, another message claiming '99 percent sale' on Amazon products, was also widely circulated.
