HMD Global may launch upgraded Nokia 8110 with 4G LTE
According to a report, HMD Global is expected to launch an upgraded version of the Nokia 8110 (originally launched in 2008) along side a slew of smartphones to be unveiled at their company event in Mobile World Congress, tomorrow. HMD is reportedly introducing the same Nokia 8110 feature phone but with modern features and upgraded specs. Here's our roundup on the Nokia 8110.
The revamped Nokia 8110
According to reports, this edition of the Nokia 8110 will sport a single rear camera with support for 4G LTE and is expected to run YunOS - Alibaba's custom skin. The phone is expected to have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity along with Hotspot features and a 1,200mAh battery. However, there hasn't been any confirmation about the specs and features by HMD Global.
Release and Price
Nokia 8110 will reportedly be available from May at an expected price of about Rs. 6,300. HMD Global, like its other recently launched feature phone Nokia 3310, will offer Nokia 8110 in several color options including Yellow, Black, Cyan and others. The company's MWC event is hours away and we can certainly see the Nokia 8110 get unveiled.
HMD Global is banking on Nokia 3310's success
HMD Global has seen good success with its strategy to revamp old Nokia phones and launch them in several countries. In fact, the recently launched Nokia 3310 was its best selling feature phone and helped HMD Global get a place in markets like India.
