These Nokia phones could launch in India next week
HMD Global is gearing up to launch at least one new smartphone in India on December 6 and has sent out media invites for the same. Reportedly, the company could unveil Nokia X7's rebranded version - Nokia 8.1 or Nokia 7.1 Plus - along with Nokia 7.1, Nokia 2.1 Plus and the Nokia 9 with five camera setup. Here's everything to know.
Rebranded version of Nokia X7 - Nokia 8.1
The Android One-based Nokia 8.1 aka Nokia X7 will feature a 6.18-inch full-HD+ display, a 12MP+13MP dual rear-camera setup, and a 20MP selfie snapper. It will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor, paired with Adreno 616 GPU, 4GB/6GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB of storage (expandable up to 400GB). Lastly, Nokia 8.1 will run stock Android Oreo and pack 3,500mAh battery.
Nokia 7.1
HMD Global's Android One-based Nokia 7.1, which was launched in Europe in October, is also expected to be unveiled in India on December 6. The phone features a 5.84-inch full-HD+ notched display, 12MP+5MP dual rear-camera setup, and 8MP front camera. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 chipset, coupled with 3GB/4GB RAM, 32GB/64GB of inbuilt storage (expandable up to 400GB) and 3,060mAh battery.
Nokia 9
HMD Global could also showcase its upcoming flagship, the Nokia 9, at next week's event. The phone is expected to come with a 6.01-inch display with QHD resolution and a five-camera setup at the back. Further, it may feature Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, upto 8GB RAM, and 128GB storage. Lastly, Nokia 9 is expected to run Android Pie out-of-the-box, and pack 4,150mAh battery.
HMD Global may also launch Nokia 2.1 Plus in India
Alongside the Nokia 8.1, Nokia 7.1 and the Nokia 9, brand licensee HMD Global could also introduce budget-friendly Nokia 2.1 Plus. And while very little is known about this phone, it is speculated to feature a notched display and be part of Android Go program.
Alongside, the company may also launch new accessories
Notably, HMD Global had earlier launched two new Bluetooth headphones and we expect these accessories to arrive in India also. Firstly, there's the splash resistant, ultra-lightweight Nokia True Wireless Earbuds that weigh 5g per earbud, offer upto 3.5 hours of music playback and come with a chargeable carry-case. Then there's neckband-styled Nokia Pro Wireless Earphones that offer upto 10 hours of playback time.
