Hasbro's new Megatron is the coolest self-transforming toy ever
American multinational toy company Hasbro, in collaboration with Robosen, has introduced a new self-transforming Megatron toy. For those unaware, Megatron is a fictional character, who assumes the role of the primary antagonist in the Transformers franchise. The advanced toy can autonomously transform into a remote-control tank, with a large auto-extending cannon capable of firing projectiles. Originally priced at $1,200 (nearly ₹1 lakh), it is available for $899 (around ₹74,900) until May 25.
It is capable of speaking over 270 phrases
The Megatron toy is capable of standing 21-inch tall. It can speak over 270 phrases, voiced by original Megatron actor Frank Welker. It responds to multiple voice commands and performs various tricks as well. The toy is equipped with 36 servo motors and 118 microchips, providing more interactive play features than its predecessors, Optimus and the Dinobot Grimlock. It also includes 112 bright LEDs, and updated joints for its servos to actuate.
Fusion Cannon vibrates as Megatron charges
Megatron's Fusion Cannon, a permanent fixture on his arm vibrates as it is "charging," simulating recoil. The cannon is internally illuminated by LEDs. Additional features include a light-up sword and a new flail that can swing a spiked rubber ball on a chain. Robosen has improved the design by stiffening Megatron's leg servos to enable the bot to stand on a shelf when switched off.
