#Review: Harmonics Twins Mini, worthy true wireless earbuds from Portronics
Portronics, a well-known brand in consumer electronics category, recently came up with a new pair of true wireless earbuds - Harmonics Twins Mini. The buds look decent, and the most interesting part is, they come at just Rs. 2,000, which makes them one of the most affordable options in the rapidly-mushrooming TWS hearables market. We tried them on, and here's our full review.
3.5/5 stars, considering all the pros and cons
Overall, Harmonics Twins Mini make a pretty good, 3.5 star-level pair of earbuds, thanks to their affordable price, sturdy and comfortable build, clear and distortion-free audio, seamless connectivity, and long-lasting battery. They could have been even better, but Portronics's integration of calling features is not up to the mark, and that makes attending calls while commuting a pain.
Comfortable earbuds, pocket-friendly charging case
While Twins Mini do not carry a premium design, they sure have all the basics right. Although the buds are made out of plastic, but at the same time, they are small, sturdy, comfortable-to-wear, and bundled with physical buttons; they come in different sizes of ear tips. The charging case is pocket-friendly, and equipped with lights that show when the device is charging.
Nice music experience with clear, distortion free audio
Portronics offers a nice 'true HD' stereo music experience with Twins Mini and its 8mm audio driver unit. The bass is not that great, but overall audio quality is pretty decent - loud enough and free from distortions. This means you can certainly enjoy your favorite songs on these buds, and play/pause them on the go using the integrated physical buttons.
Seamless connectivity, automatic power on/off
In terms of connectivity, we had no issues at all while pairing these buds for the first time or connecting them again; they worked seamlessly and the music always stayed in sync on both sides. Notably, whenever you pluck these earbuds out of the case, they turn on automatically - with an automated voice telling 'power on' - and begin pairing with recently-connected devices.
Disappointing calling experience
While the music experience of Twins Mini was right on the mark, calling was a major disappointment. Specifically, even with 'noise deduction' features built-in, the earbuds fail to offer loud enough audio during calls. Long story short: Perhaps, you can try indoor calls with this thing, but an outdoor call, especially while commuting via subway/bus, would certainly be a mess.
Battery lasts for 9-10 hours, and that is great
If you prefer music at work, Twins Mini should be your thing - without a doubt. The 40mAh batteries of the earbuds and the 320mAh battery of their case collectively take around one and a half hours to charge. After that, they give you 9-10 hours of backup, with the buds themselves lasting for around 2-3 hours.
Verdict: If poor call audio doesn't bother, go for them
That said, if you don't get that many calls or are ok with using your phone for attending calls, we'd suggest going with Harmonics Twins Mini. They make a worthy value-for-money package.
