You could soon share screen with Gemini to ask questions
What's the story
At the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025, Google announced plans to bring screen sharing capability to its Gemini Live platform.
Users can ask questions about what's on the screen and have a back-and-forth conversation.
The tech giant said that this feature, powered by Project Astra, will be rolled out later this month.
This development was first hinted at during Google's I/O 2024 event in May 2024.
User interface
New features to enhance user experience
The Gemini Live interface on Android will now feature a "Share screen with Live" button above the Ask Gemini text field.
This will let you share your screens with Gemini Live, employing a new phone call-style notification system.
The update also brings a full-screen mode for Gemini Live, which will come with a video shortcut offering an uninterrupted live feed on the display.
Design update
Google makes subtle design changes
Along with new features, Google has also made subtle design changes to Gemini Live. The existing circular buttons for Hold and End have been transformed into pill-shaped containers. These modifications are part of the enhancements that Google has been teasing over the past few months.
